Moving....Can I get some tips?

I have to find a new apartment. The thought of moving is giving me a huge headache. I have to move on New Year's Day..:rage: I have so much stuff!! Especially my snake collection. I am also waiting for some clinical test results. I am at risk of a deadly infection....

I have a month to find a new place and the Christmas holiday is coming.....I don't know what to do.....I'm so stressed out right now..... Sorry guys, I just need to vent. Can I please get some tip on how to relieve my stress and the most efficient way to move my reptile collection to the new apartment? I have a bunch of tubs, tanks, and 13 snakes. Should I move them first or last?

Moving is extremely stressful on its own, let alone all the other crap on your plate. I'm so sorry!!

The best thing you can do right now, if you can, is devote an entire day to looking for a new apartment. Check the classifieds in the newspaper, ask friends if they know of apartments coming available, and Craigslist usually has a good listing of apartments. I would also move your snakes last, and in their setups. That way when you get to the new apartment you can just plug them in and they're good to go.

Good luck on finding an apartment, with your test results and everything else. Take a deep breath, everything will fall into place soon enough :)

After finding an apartment and making a plan for your pets, I would recommend finding an inexpensive moving company. If you look around, you can often find one cheaper than you think. That will give you more time & energy to deal with other things. I have experience in the moving industry and would be happy to give you some tips if you decide to hire a moving company.

I just moved a few months ago. Because my pets are my most prized friends/possessions, I moved them first. I was able to get them set up quickly, and the move took so little time that their hot side didn't lose more than 5 degrees (I literally only moved 3 blocks down the road). I did keep them in their tanks, but I put them in a pillow case to ease stress.

As for YOUR stress, you will need a cup of tea, and a good book. A little bit of de-stressing every day is exceptionally helpful. And then look for a new house/apartment. Once you find a place, that is half your battle.

I just bought a house and moved my reptiles last. I left them set up in my apartment (on the floor) and set everything up in the house. Got their stands/tables/dressers all in place then made a few trips with cages and critters.
I hope everything works out for you and the move goes smoothly. Moving sucks! Lol.

I have to move new years eve....lol what I plan on doing is bagging all my reptiles up and putting them in a big tub with newspapers and heat pads im gonna have them bagged up and let them sit at my house currently and go set up tubs then move them in then im moving the rest of my things
with the stress thing its different with everyone my stress reliever is to turn on heavy metal cuddle with my cat and watch my snakes explore my room :) sometimes they bump their nose into something and pull back and they get quite funny sometimes or i walk around town listening to music lol
