So I just got a male het 66% caramel normal ball python hatchling and today was the first feeding it was going great but I realized that he ate the hopper butt first. Is this normal I thought it suppose to east head first?

Its not normal, but it's nothing to worry about. Lots of people on here have snakes that eat butt first. As long as he is eating it, it shouldn't be a problem.

They typically eat them head first, but it's nothing to worry about if they eat it backwards. My spider was a bit...slow, to put it nicely, and it took him at least half an hour to figure out that he couldn't eat a prey item sideways  He did that for about a year, maybe longer, not too bright...
