    new hide, weary snake...
Jackson grew out of his favorite hide. It's a little sad, cause he liked it so much that when he couldn't fit inside of it, he just curled up next to it, or just put his head inside it!
I got him a new one today, and he seems to be weary of it. He crawled over every inch of it, and then I witnessed him actively "sniffing" around the inside of it for over an hour- before deciding to just go into his other hide. I really thought he would like this one! Should I just take it out or see if he warms up to it?
It was really pretty funny to see his reaction to something new in his tank...

Jackson sounds like a cutie. I would give him some time to get used to it, however, it's recommended to have two hides that are exactly identical for this very reason. :) Snakes will often prefer one hide over the other.

Aw, it was so sweet! I feel kinda bad, like I just took Linus' blanket away from him.
I just went to check on Jackson, and he's curled up in his new hide! I put it in there this morning, and this is the first time today I've seen him settled down in it... :)

AWE!!! This is adorable! Glad he warmed up to it. I have noticed that if I do not put everything back exactly how it was after I clean my tank, my Zola has to re-investigate every corner to make sure it is satisfactory. I try to keep it the same, but apparently she has knowledge of proper branch placements that get past me!
