    Breeding question
I am new to breeding and just had my first lock ever. I am wondering how long it will be till i notice my female developing follicles? Is it triggered by the male just being there? Now that they locked and i removed the male should i notice bowl wrapping?

Take a look at this link, it might be helpful.
    http://ballpython.ca/gallery/breeding.html

I personally havent bred anything yet, so Im not much help. :P

According the that URL tho, you should see ovulation signs such as water bowl wrapping, laying inverted, and the pre-ovulation "glow". Good luck with your first pairing ! :)

Your girl should have her follicles if she's ready to breed. If she doesn't, she's not ready to breed. Check out you tube(or preferably a bp breeder site) for simple ways to check for follicles. I have a female norm that is almost breeder. I check her every 3 days for follicles. It's very simple to check for them. They are simply bumps that feel like eggs really. Usually the number of follicles is how many eggs with be in the clutch, give or take 1 or 2. I want to say though, try to find an actual bp breeder video for demonstration, use you tube as a last resort.

Not downing you tube, jus saying, if you love bp's then you know. :)

Now that you've seen a lock your female "might start growing follicles "soon" or she might take 3-4 months to start growing follicles.
Pairing them will help her get them growing and it takes around 2 months or more to grow those follicles to around 44mm before the female will ovulate.

I started pairing in Sept/November last year and didn't get a clutch in the incubator until mid may.
Keep pairing them until you see her glow and then ovulate.

Enjoy your season you've just begun :gj:
