105? That's pretty dang hot!

Been referred to that once or twice. Also, there's a really nice digital "food" scale on Walmart that measures in grams. $16 last I checked. :)
Thanks,

It could be, I hear they're pretty unrealiable even though I haven't had problems. It could be a faulty dimmer also.
I'd unplug that sucker since 105 is hotter than what I would be comfortable with and replug it into a different outlet. Set the dimmer and recheck the temps to see if they get any lower.
On the note of measuring temps: are you using a temp gun, a therm with a probe, something else? Are you measuring on top of the substrate surface or directly on the glass (if you have a tank) or he plastic (if you have a tub)?

its direction on bottom of tub inside, see i bought a new dimmer today and still 105 from probe..
so tonight decided to play with admiral, i cleaned his tub and put a pices of paper towel over the tub then put the bedding over the paper towel.

Is the stick-on black mat type?
I returned all mine.
Even a thermostat wouldn't stop it from trying to bake my snakes.
I went to the heat cable type.
I can regulate the zones much easier and it responds to the thermostat.
My first UTH cracked a 20L tank and melted the plastic frame.
Luckily, Iggy wasn't on the warm [HA!] side when it happened.
