    What the.. Figuring out the 1/64 punnett square. Help!
    Hey guys,

    Since I started learning and reading about breeding, I have been taking a lot of time doing punnett squares. Everyday I do a couple to look at possible combinations I can produce in the next few years. I have to say, some of my friends and co-workers are getting weirded out because I talk about snakes all the time now, haha.

    So I have figured out everything up to the 1/16 odds punnett squares. That is to say everything that is 4-gene or less. Here are a few examples (I want to see if I am doing it right)

    p = pastel, P = normal gene
    s = spider, S = normal gene
    q = lesser, Q = normal gene (i use Q's becuase L's are hard to read)

    Lesser Pastel (qQpP) x Bumble Bee (pPsS)

    So that gives:
    1/16 Killer Queen Bee
    1/16 Super Pastel Lesser
    1/16 Killer Bee
    2/16 Queen Bee
    1/16 Super Pastel
    2/16 Bumble Bee
    2/16 Pastel Lesser
    1/16 Lesser Spider
    2/16 Pastel
    1/16 Lesser
    1/16 Spider
    1/16 Normal

    So I'm pretty sure thats correct. Now trying to understand recessive genes.

    p = pastel, P = normal gene
    b = piebald, B = normal gene (needs two "b"'s for visual morph)
    a = albino, A = normal gene (needs two "a"'s for visual morph)

    Pastel Piebald (pPbb) x Albino (aa):

    Offspring would be:
    1/2 Pastel 100% Double Het Albino Piebald
    1/2 Normal 100% Double Het Albino Piebald

    Here is my million dollar question. Somebody who knows this stuff help me out if you can :gj:

    How do you calculate, in terms of punnett squares, this pairing:

    Pastel 100% Double Het Albino Pied x Pastel 100% Double Het Albino Pied??

    I know for a fact there is a 1/64 chance for Killer Pied Albino, because Jkobylka talks about it at some point in his videos. But I am really clueless as to how to setup a 8 by 8 punnett square. Someone help ! :D

    Pastel 100% Double Het Albino Pied x Pastel 100% Double Het Albino Pied

    Change the variables as you wish, this is how I do it.
    Uppercase = Morph gene
    Lower case = not morph
    P = Pastel, A = Albino, X = Pied

    I'll Let you fill it in, this method will be consistent and will show two alleles on every locus your concerned with

    Yeah it is alot alot of work to figure it all out. I tried once apon a time to make a giant chart for my wall with just double gene combos n its like 3 bristol boards big right now lol I looked into 3 n 4 and i don have walls that big lol. Your best best is this http://www.worldofballpythons.com/wizard/ it will answer every quetion all the time :D hold shift to add more then 1 gene to a male or female in your pairings.

    Join the club about people thinking you're crazy. I can't tell you how many lists I have made...Breeding lists, need lists, wish lists, This site sure does save some time and headaches. http://www.worldofballpythons.com/wizard/. You can go through a ton of combos in a day.

    I might have a suggestion, if you go on line and google Genetic Generic wizard by MP productions, it should bring up a free software download.

    Hope it helps
