    Well... Couldn't resist
I really wasn't looking to pick up a new snake right now. Much less another male. Much less a Pastel. lol. Never been too excited about them, except in combos. But... Here I walked into the local herp store to buy some pups, and find this guy. Hard to see, as I took pics in the wrong light, but he's bright, bright yellow, with pure deep blacks. Plus I dunno... Something about him caught my eye. Can't even really say what. Something about the pattern strikes me as unique. Rang the "don't pass this up bell." That and they gave me a smokin' deal on him. And he's a little chunker, 300g already. Oh did I mention that he's het clown? Well, he is. :P

    So here he is:

    Thoughts on him?

Shiny isnt normal unless its a hatchling yet to have its first shed.

No idea. He's definitely no hatchling though.

could it have just shed out? dont they build up fluid under the shedding skin layer so its easier for them to get it off?

Edit: just looked at my pastel.

Yeah under my living room halogen lights... he is shiny too... odd.

He's really pretty! His pattern is definitely cool!

I was wondering why he was shiny too. And since you got it from a pet store and he's not a hatchling it worries me that they may have put mineral oil on him to try to "treat" him for something.
