    Pre-Ovy Shed or pre-pre-Ovy shed?
Started pairing on 9/30. Have observed 4 locks and they've all lasted at least 12 hours. My female is blue. Definitely building. I've tried palpating but I don't really know what I'm looking for.

Think this is the pre-Ovy shed or the pre-pre-Ovy shed? I'm thinking it's a bit early for pre-Ovy, and I don't want to get my hope up. What do y'all think? This is my 1st year breeding.

I dont think there is such a thing as a pre ovulation shed (at least as far as predicting an ovulation goes). With my girls, the gap between their last shed and their ovulation ranged from over 4 months to slightly under a month. Thats a little too variable to be something I pay attention to.

Wait til she ovulated and look for a post ovy shed. That one seems to be much more reliable.
