Built new two bin rack-for $27.26 with a video.
2x2's, tubs, water bottles, and food cost $27.26! I had some aspen already. The rats were $15 for the pair.

looks good, she definitely looks pregnant imo. i only saw her for a second but she looks preggo to me.

The softfurs arent hard to breed but they take FOREVER to get to adult size. If you think your male is bad just WAIT until you get softfurs. You will want to invest in some tongs lol. they are MEAN as soon as you touch them. They are FAST like mice. They are super protective of their young. They can be little :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r:s to sum it up lol. They can chew through ANYTHING. although i keep mine in concrete tubs as well and have had great luck.
i would expect the male your holding back to be atleast 3-4mo old before he will be able to breed the female. The female your holding back will need as long or longer. I would'nt cull the male you have right away. I would keep him around otherwise your going to get one litter, then have a long while to wait until you will have more. I would let him get a few more litters in until your hold back is ready.
Also i would invest in some rat block, its the same price or usually cheaper and WAY better for them. I use KENT brand. Look at a local feed store. There can be a lot of adverse affect. I also notice a decrease in production when using dog food, smaller litters, and more eaten babies.

    Good Luck!

Do you put your rat block on top of the screen or in the cage?

    Looks great!
I have 2 pregnant rats right now, and yours looks similar. Such a shame that your male is aggressive. He's a good looking fellow.

I want to build either a 2 or 3 tub rack as well.
What were your specs for the wood?

looks awesome! I wouldn't mess around with ASF if I we're you. They take forever to grow and end up being more expensive for you to breed. Besides if aggression is a concern for you than I would stick to Norways. Just my opinion for you. Rack looks sweet though! Good Job.

I am planning on having a 1.3 ASF colony but that's only because I have a handful of pain in the butt snakes that won't switch. Honestly.. Norways are the way to go. Especially when your going to be feeding an adult ball python between 3-5 large ASF a feeding.

I (unfortunately) got bit again by the male and it was pretty bad and I wasn't happy. I knocked him out with co2 and my corn snake made a quick snack of him. :snake:

The female had a litter of 15! Check out the video on my youtube channel. I'm going to get a male from the litter and breed him to mom and one of his sisters at around 9 weeks.

pm me with that same question and I'll try to get a blueprint out to you. Do you have a menards near you? My design is built around their tubs.
