Ka-Ka-Kabooom went the Rat.

So, I've joined the exploding rat club this morning at 4 am. I have NO clue how it happened. I warmed it the same way as the last one.

It was quite comical (and disgusting) when it happened. I felt like Kaa and I were in a bad "B" movie. Worst part, Kaa is in my room - so now my room, despite cleaning sicne 4am smells like decayed rat.

Lol.

Ick. I've never had one explode: does it just burst apart when you're heating it up with a hairdryer or something? Them falling apart is due to overheating also, correct?

Only gross F/T experience I had is when my Jungle boa squeezed his feeder so hard that he made all the guts fall out all over the place (he's done that twice now). It didn't look too pretty :oops:

Yeah that happens...and it sure is smelly when it does!

It actually exploded when he struck it. I think it scared him haha.


Smelly is an understatement. :(

I want to laugh, but I'm not going to because tomorrow is my feeding day, and I don't need any unexpected visits from Karma... :)

The last exploding rat thread I read, I laughed. So this was definitely deserved. I can't even help but laugh at myself over it, it sure did wake me up this morning.

Ewww, fun. The only time that's happened to me was with a crappy mice that Petsmart sells. They've been thawed and refrozen god knows how many times. They stink worse than fresher mice, even when they don't explode. I'm fortunate enough now to have a local rat breeder to buy from. His stuff is really great. Got my picky het albino (tried everything with her!) to take his pinky rats on the first try.

im sorry you had to join this club, i had my first one about two weeks ago? and it smells absolutly horrible, im almost gagging just thinking about it lol

@ Shockbunny -... Ahaha... these are petsmart mice :(. Austin isn't too far from me - I'll definitely look into that place!
