P-A-M harmful to some species.

After reading a couple articles about Pam causing deaths in hog nose snakes, I'm curious what other species are susceptible to this?

My use of Pam is in treatment of mites, not a regular part of cage maintenance.
Curious how many people use it regularly to prevent mites?

I treat my enclosures about every two months with Provent-A-mite to prevent any possible infestations...

I sort of assumed anything that was that effective was probably dangerous for long-term exposure... I don't like breathing in the fumes when I spray it, so I figure I should extend that worry to my animals, too.

I sometimes spray quarantine tanks with it, but I let them air out overnight before I put the snake in. Otherwise, I only use it for actual infestations, not as a preventative.

I don't use PAM, so I can't really put any input out there. But I'd love to hear from other people as well.

Bryan Hummel once told me that he had found PAM to be very deadly to brazilian rainbow boas, especially the babies. He claimed that's why my little girl passed away. If anyone wants to contact him about that, he might have more to say on it.

And jeez, I think that the poster over at SBTV is right, that's a pretty bad response and a bad attitude from Pro Products. If she provided that much evidence of hoggies being extra sensitive, they should at least look into the matter...

I bought a can of P A M and have never had to use it no mites yet so I figure it was just insurance but I will have to read the articles thanks for posting them

Be careful with it around mountain kings as well.

Well i used it on every reptile cage we have. (besides the frogs)
We use PAM on The substrate and let it air out for 15-30 min before putting the reptile in. Then once it is aired out we put reptile spray on the reptile, we message it around the body of the animal and place him in his enclosure. They get no water for till the next day. No animals have died on us.
