    Average rate of growth
Round about guesstimate, how long would it take a baby hog island and columbian boas to outgrow a 32qt tub? I am debating wether I should go ahead and order their permenant enclosure for when they are older now, or waiting a bit.

The hog island is a male and the columbian red-tail is a female, figured that would be helpful.

I couldn't tell you about babies, but I got my female BCI when she was about a year and a half, she went from less than 5 ft to 6 ft, 5 lbs, and went from the 1400'g to 2300g's in less than 5 months. She's in a 6x2x3 enclosure.

    Don't know if that helps.

Oh ok, so my babies will grow super fast :O Might as well place my order now then. Have it here and waiting on them.

My bci's were in 28 qt's until about a month ago and they're 1 1/2 years old. Now they are in 41 qt's. All three are around 3'.

My 2 1/2 year old female is right at 6' now and same age male is a little over 5'. They got moved from 41 qt tubs to VE175's about a month ago as well.

All depends on how often you're feeding them. Remember that Hogs are dwarfs and don't grow as large, unless it's a hypo.

I intend to feed once weekly, when I get them to eat that is. Ive had the hog two weeks, he just shed 2 days ago so I am hoping he will eat his mouse....the columbian Ive had 2 days, letting her settle before I offer her, her first meal.

Unlike BP's, I think you can never have a cage too big for a boa. In my 41 quart rack, I have yearlings and babies. They are all doing fine. If you're going to make the investment, I'd say go with the bigger system now as they WILL grow into it.

Remember, prey items and the frequency of feeding will change how fast your boa grows. My girl gets one medium rat every week, which is what I contribute to her growth spurt. I originally had her on a 2 week schedule, but she started getting really irritable and started tracking hands, so we moved her back to every week and she stopped. :P She's such a fatty.
