    Handling After Feeding
How long is appropriate to wait before handling a BP after feeding? I love having mine out to crawl around and watch TV with me, but I don't want to disturb him if he's still digesting...

It's least stressful for the snake to wait 2 days after feeding.

This question seems popular lately, as does the typical answer :snake:

Having had 80 hatchlings this season how does one suggest ever getting to handle one if they get fed 2 or 3 times a week and you have to wait 48 hours to hold them?

I usually recommend 2 days because mine generally stay in their hides completely for 2 days, and always seem grumpy and stressed if I try and handle them. I also feed on a 5 day schedule for my babies so that leaves me 3 days to handle them before they eat again :)

i always do 24hrs after eating. i haven't noticed adverse effects handling them after that amount of time. no issues with the feeding repeatedly either. When i sell normals as pets to people locally i always recommend 24-48hrs of no handling after feeding I haven't personally noticed any problems.

I think it goes without saying that if you fed a giant meal to a snake you should extend the no handling rule a little while lol.

With having a 5yr old (hyper) child and a husband (my other child) :O:D I try to spend as much time as possible with my Balls but usually it doesn't work out that way.

The only time I really get to hold them is during feeding time. I don't hold them before they feed because they are hungry so they are less likely to tolerate it, so I wait until after they eat. Then, they are full (content) and actually tolerate being held more.

So, IMO, I don't really think waiting is necessary for regurgitating purposes. I've always held them whenever I want to even if it is right after they ate and I have never had a problem
