Clutch #7: Piebald x Het Results
My piebald to het piebald clutch hatched over the weekend while I was at the Tampa Repticon show. Came home to 2.0 hets and 0.3 piebalds. Couldn't be happier with them! :D

    First off, the hets:

    Funky reduced side pattern

    Pretty cool ringer

Now for the piebalds! This first girl has some killer orange and yellow!

Good amount of white on this girl! (I'm a huge fan of white tails on pieds)

Now this girl... I want some opinions on her. She has some markings that strike me as pretty interesting, such as the black markings on her labial scales around the heat pits and the darker head pattern with contrasting light spot in the middle. The sire doesn't resemble a leopard pied to me, but I've been told they can be difficult to pick out. Also, the markings I described seem to be a common characteristic of leopard pieds. The one thing she doesn't have that a lot of the leopard pieds I've seen photos of have, though, is the dark head pattern sort of taking over the light eye stripes and connecting down to the dark eye stripes. Any opinions (especially those of individuals who have examined a few leopard pieds in person) would be greatly appreciated. Even if she isn't a leopard, I still think she looks great and she is definitely one of my favourite holdbacks of the year.

Well, I'm no expert, but I've been kind of studying the leopards cause I really like that morph. That 3rd girl sure looks like a leopard to me. That head pattern is incredible! I LOVE how the neck pattern bleeds into the eye stripe - marvelous! I could be wrong on that, but my humble opinion is leopard - also because of the fantastic patterning on the other babies as well.

These are some of the nicest pieds and het pieds I have ever seen. I want one. :P
