    Red Knee Q
Just a question on my Mexican Red Knee. I got him/her Oct 23rd(ish) and it's only eaten one cricket since I got it...

I have it in a deli container, a rectangle one maybe 3.5" x 5", holes for ventilation, a hide, and a small bottle cap for water. It's the largest T I've owned so far, and my other species eat consistently at least once every 4-5 days, so I'm starting to get a little nervous. At first I figured it was about to molt, which I still think it will soon, but it's not eating. I gave it a live cricket maybe 2 days after I got it, then have attempted since and even tried a prekilled cricket and it's just not interested. I tried a mealworm the other day, pretty sure the mealworm got away and burrowed in the substrate

Either way, just wondering if this is normal?

Sheesh, I know they go off feed before molting but I was starting to get nervous with how long it's been. We shall see, hopefully it molts soon...I'll also be finding out the sex with the next molt ;)

Your cricket is a bit big but that's besides the point. Premolt for sure. I have my most voracious tarantula not eating for several weeks and sure enough, he's upside down on a web mat last night!

    Regards,

My tarantula is fat because all it wants to do is eat.
