What do you look for in an Enchi??...plz help
I know you guys hate these threads but I've got a dilemma that needs to be solved quick. After not seeing any female Enchis around for a reasonable price I've now found 3 that pretty much need an answer quickly. So, what do you look for (good & bad) in an Enchi (plz include anything you can think of)? I do hope to eventually breed this girl so getting a quality animal is extremely important to me.

Thx for any and all help..

Sometimes it takes people a couple or few years to finally find the one they're looking for, even if it means looking at hundreds of pictures of others for sale.

If you're really looking for something extravagant that catches your eye, I would keep looking around. There are SEVERAL breeders who are involved in Enchis.

Although, if I was looking for my perfect Enchi.. She would have to be super clean, decently reduced in pattern, and display vibrant colors--no dullness or looking like a reduced normal.

EDIT: Also, sometimes spending a little more money is for the better if you're looking for your perfect example.

There are two things you want to look for in an enchi. The first is a good orange and second is a nice reduced pattern!(IMO) Here is a good looking one

    Hope this helps

If the perfect one came along I woulda bit the bullet and paid it, but they were nothing outstanding.

The one I'm looking at most is from a good Enchi breeder (some, not reg females, he has listed are outstanding) and a guy I've grown to trust over what limited communication we've had (plus his reputation). She's not as reduced as Eric put in his reply, but not too far off it (certainly nothing like a normal) and I'd say with a little more pattern, and a little more white spots coming up the side, but quite a bit brighter yellow with less browning.

The killer in all this is I found 3 perfect ones from a guy who's been selling a long time. but after seeing whats posted about them on Faunas BOI theres no way in hell I'm goin there.

Enchis are hands down my favorite morph.

I like them reduced, banded, and with high mandarin and sepia tones. Nice flames, high blush, and perfect white borders around the alien heads.

Also I prefer them to have a high side (like spiders do), but in regards to their dorsal darkening... they tend to get dark from the spine down, and that results in a speckling effect as they age.

I prefer that side to remain high, as it tends to overshadow the mandarin colour on them.

Here are a few pics of some enchis in my collection as examples.

And for the record the first pic is not photoshopped, he is that bright. :)

Thats a helluva collection Bruce...very nice! I'm liking the more bright tan/yellow more than the real orange (as long as its clean), what that will do to any offspring I dunno, but from what I've seen of Enchi mixes you really can't go too wrong....besides, with pretty much any morph brighter is generally better.

Not a big black back fan from the ones I've seen.....just looks like a dark, dirty Enchi to me, but I guess thats just my taste.
