Vet trip in near future, cost of RI treatment?

Well my one corn has had the sniffles for a while now, and unfortunately my one bp has caught the same bug. I've located the nearest qualified vet, 280 km :(, and have started to make an appointment. What does the vet bill usually come out to when dealing with ri? And is it usually a one visit deal or is there usually a follow up? I can't speak to the vet personally at this time so I was wondering if anyone had any idea.

I haven't had an RI with mine yet luckly..*knock on wood* lol but from what i've heard and read , they will administer shots of antibiotics and teach you how to give the rest, and then i believe you probably have a follow up after to make sure its cleared up.. not sure on cost tho, im sure it would be different with each vet too, sorry I can't be of more help

I think it will vary depending on the Vet. No way to know unless someone here has used that Vet before or you call and ask.

The vet near hear is $30 for the visit, and I think it was about $40 for the treatment. Was not my snake, but a friend of mine so not sure if those are exact numbers. Was also treated for scale rot ( was a rescue ) so prices could be totally off other than the visit.

Well the receptionist said 52$ per animal, and if the treatment is 50 or so each too that wouldn't be so awfully bad. I just want to quell this illness within my collection before it gets out of hand, but don't want to break the bank either. I guess that's just how it goes when you take on the charge of pets. I've been so lucky with all my other animals, I haven't Ever had a vet visit for anyone in about 5 years of keeping.

That's the cost of keeping animals the right way. It's not cheap that's for sure. Either way it will break the bank, but, it will a lot more if you don't treat the symptoms(you will most likely lose the animals). How did they get sick? Did you acquire new animals recently? If not, you should check your husbandry. Hope it all goes well for you. I've dealt with RI's in the past and they are not fun, especially when you keep your animals maticuosly. I freak out on germs.:D

Well the corn has had it on and off since I rescued him, and there must have been cross contamination with a tub or something of that nature. I keep all my animals pretty clean, good temps and proper humidity. I should have done something with the corn sooner but his symptoms would come and go, and having to make a 600km round trip for a healthy snake with a whistley nose would hurt. Either way, they are both going in for a checkup, regardless of cost.... I just wanted a headsup so I didn't get vet bill shock.
