Average Growth?

My male is about 4.5 months old and is about two feet long. I haven't gotten a scale yet to weigh but is that a good average for a male this old? He is already feeding on small white mice.

The reason most people do not use length for ball pythons is because it can be long but very skinny, which would not be a good thing, or it could be too "fat" for it's length. They also grow at different rates, my 2010's vary between 450 grams and 900 grams.

Your snake could also be switched to rat fuzzies or pups at this point, depending on it's weight.

O.o isn't 2 feet long quite long for a 4 mo BP? IDK I might be wrong tho

I have a couple 5 month old balls are in the 400g range. Without a weight or at least pics, we can't help you really. At 4.5 months he should be on large mice or preferably large rat pups if you ask me.

My 4 month olds are around 200 grams. I would say that's a pretty average size. Some bps that age could be bigger, some smaller. They all grow at different rates.

I compiled some of my data from 2010 for some of my snakes. Red = female, blue = male. Most follow some type of linear growth rate. I didn't have time to look into uploading a *.pdf, so I had to save it as an image and apologize that it is blurry. Hopefully that helps; you can extrapolate and average to see if your snake is the "right" size.

But as others mentioned, all snakes are different as indicated by my data.
