Reptibator Thread...with a twist!

So a few months ago a privately owned pet store was having a moving sale and other than the usual supplies that we picked up at a super discount they also had a Reptibator. It was super cheap so I figured I'd buy it. We're planning to breed one clutch this season and I had a thought...

Could I attach a proportional thermostat to the Reptibator as a way of bypassing its thermostat that (after having two Zilla/Zoomed/whatever thermostats fail within a week) I don't trust?

You probably could, I've never used one or even seen one in person, but it should be as simple as opening it up and finding the wires that power the heat source, and splicing a plug and some more wire onto it.

Yeah, I don't see why not. In fact it should be fairly easy to accomplish as The Serpent Merchant said.

Do you think I could just plug the entire Reptibator into the thermostat?

No, not without removing the Reptibator's thermostat from the circuit.

Okay. Good to know. I'll have to do more research to understand what I'll be looking at in there.
