This sucks...
In two weeks I will only have one friend left at work that I see semi regularly, meaning about once every other month, and I'm starting to get a little depressed about the whole thing.
A little over a year ago I started my job and moved half way across the country (from NH to WI) for it. All of my family is in NH or MA, so I'm pretty much alone out here. At first it wasn't a big deal, I started with almost 200 other people and I made some friends pretty quickly. Well they have slowly been leaving the company. I made 4 good friends when I started, one moved to outside of Chicago, she's the closest and I have seen her since she left but not often. Then another friend moved back to Boston, MA, another out to CA and my last friend is moving to New Zealand at the end of the month. The only friend I have left at work is one I didn't start with but he only plans on staying for another year or so and I don't see him very often.
I don't really have much of a life outside of work because I work so much. On a good day I will only work 8 hours, normally I work at least 9-10 hours sometimes more. Then I get home and I have a large collection of pets to take care, which I love, but it doesn't leave much room for a social life.
E-mail, facebook, IM, phone calls and even this forum are great and all but it's not the same as having a friend who you can hangout with and talk to during lunch or go see a movie with. :(
Sorry for this completely off topic post, I just really needed someone to know how I am feeling and this won't fit in a facebook status as far as I know. Life is what it is, but it doesn't mean I have to be happy about it all the time. Thanks for reading.

I feel for you, I seriously do. Like you, for the most part the only friends I have are the people I work with and my animals. I work three jobs and go to school full time. So the only time I actually have free on a given day, is time in which I should be sleeping (which is normally spent doing homework).
You will make more friends though, just keep your head up! It's always hard to see people we care about move away. :(

Kinra, we can hang out anytime! My friends are pretty rowdy but we can do other stuff too, its cool. Hit me up whenever! You know the #! :)

I know what that is like all too well. I grew up in the eastern PA/NJ area and now live in MA for work. I moved up here with my wife at the time and shortly after that had a kid. now 2 years later I now have an ex wife who has my kid and she moved backed home. So i have been stuck in MA solo for a while but things changed. Just gotta get out there and realize that over time things will change. that was my experience anyway.
try to find a sport or some other activity to do after work once a week or something. its a great way to meet other people. I play flag football now and its awesome! good luck
