Hey everyone...my first female rat is having her first litter as we speak! She is on # 8...so while she is havin her litter can I keep checking on her or do I even need to keep an eye on her? I know not to mess with her cuz it'll cause her to stress but wondering on just checking up on her...what do u guys do??

    Thanks!

I leave them alone. Better to let them do their thing by themselves IMO.

yeah just let her do her thing if you stress her out she might eat the babies, just look after she is done for any stillborns i had some rat moms they will not eat them so you need to remove them. Congrats on your first litter :D

    congrats:gj:
Leave them alone, also I dont hold too high of hopes for the first litter. She is learning what to do. I have one girl that "killed" most of her first two litters, but now she is one of the best mommies I have.
