    Tub question
How do you keep your tubs secure? We don't have a rack system yet, so our snakes are all in sterlite tubs with lids. My husband is so worried that the snakes are going to get out that he has stacks and stacks of books on the top. Is there an easier way to secure them? If you have photos, that would be great. Then he can look at them and do what you all do.

    Thanks :)

I secure mine with binder clips. The bigger the snake, the more binder clips they get :) People also use luggage straps too.

    Here is my DIY rack.

There is also a 4th one on top now :)

^^^That is a very good suggestion.

You can also purchase tubs at a Walmart, Target, Big Lots, etc. that have locking lids. I use locking lids for basically all the snakes and some of my tarantulas.

This is probably your best bet. ^^^

I have a buddy who breeds blood pythons and he uses bungee cords for his tubs that are not in proper racks. I don't know that I would personally recommend this as I can think of half a dozen things wrong with this but its just another idea to throw out there.

My tubs have locking lids. I also use binder clips and luugage straps. I realize that two straps one some of the tubs may be a little overkill, but I like uniformity, so, if one needs them, then they all get them. Besides, a little extra deosn't hurt.

You all rock! Thank you SO much!

LGray and Vypryz, I love your setups! My hubs just looked at them and got ideas. In the spring he's doing a DIY rack for us.

We already do have a locking lid, but we're going to replace all the tubs with ones that lock. He just loves the strap idea, so we're going to do straps and binder clips. We have a ton of bungee cords and that just never crossed my mind. Great idea!

Yay! Now all my books can go back onto the shelves where they belong :D
