carpet pythons question

Ok If some remember back in either late stepmber or early oct I rescued several snakes from a guy over in fauna. I been using tubs since I don't have 3 larger cages, I had to take the carpets out more often to handle and cool them off as they act like they over heating ( or just crpet natruel to push everything onto the oht side and rub like bad to get out)

I found that the larger carpet has been hissing a lot using a lot of force exhaling when I remove it from the tub and they both never want to sit still. lol
the younger one more nippy and strikes out a lot. I think some of it cause they never had much if any heat
I am no leaning to an RI cause there no discharge and no lost in willing ot eat live prey( which id do to be fed again today if I got anytihn their size.)

What are the temps?
Carpets are very active in general, at least mine are. They may be extra restless in the tubs.
I have also noticed that they (again, mine) are noisier breathers, they exhale loudly and sometimes have 'extra' sounds.

Some basics about carpet python behavior, if you come from a BP background, and you'll read many new keepers comment on:

1) carpet pythons are fairly active
2) carpet pythons are noisy breathers
3) carpet pythons like it cooler than you might have first thought
4) smaller ones tend to be nippy, or at least more active and flighty during handling

All of your concerns sound normal aside from the rubbing against the enclosure part. That usually occurs when they have an enclosure that's too small for a carpet. Loud breathing, lots of activity and hanging out on the cool side of the cage are all nothing to be concerned about. Just make sure your temps are correct (about 85-87 on hot side) and you'll be fine.
