My plans for next 3 years :D

Here are my breeding plans for the next three years, looking for some input from anyone who's bred before in the past.

Right now I have a normal girl, shes kind of a rescue and I don't intend on doing any breeding with her.

I have reserved and purchased a Cinny Male already that I am going to pair with a Pastel female (that I will buy fairly soon) in the next two years, and Im trying for Pewters of course. So that will be my fairly cheap first experiment at breeding-kinda thing. So that I sort of get the hang of breeding.

I will also be investing in a Bumblebee in about year or (probaby) two and pairing it with a Lesser. I will be going for 1/8 chance for queen bee, as well as the other three double-gene morphs. Lesser pastels, Lesser bees, and Bumble bees.

Is this too agressive of a plan for my first three years of breeding? Money is also another issue but I think I will be able to save up enough before then.

My Ultimate Ultimate goal for this project is breeding a Queen Bee with a Pastel, and trying to create a Killer Queen Bee, a Lesser Plat Super Pastel, and a Lesser Plat Super Pastel Spider. I know the odds are 1/16 and quite unlikely; however, all of the outcomes from those combo's are so fantastic looking. I'm really excited to hear back and see what you guys think.

In terms of making your money back, I was told not to expect anything back for the first 3 years (not that im doing it for money, of course i am just blown away by bp morphs!). And that seems pretty accurate. I have drawn out a rough budget year by year, including a $500 vet fee per year in case any of my snakes encounter something unexpected. I have budgeted for food, for bedding, for thermostats, tubs, racks, flexwatt, incubator, furniture, and the initial cost for the snakes.

My plan is:
Present - Cinny Male hatchling reserved picking him up in a few weeks, in two years he will probably be at a good weight to breed.
Summer 2012 - Plan to pickup a Pastel Female, possible a proven breeder to speed things up but if not, then just a hatchling/juve
Summer 2013 - Plan to pickup Bumblebee and Lesser by this time, probably hatchlings.

What do you guys think ? Is this a realistic goal for me to achieve ? Keep in mind I live in Canada so the value of snakes is kind of skewed and more pricy, compared to US prices.

I know you said you already have the male cinny reserved, but if possible, I would start off getting females first. A male if he eats well, can get up to size to breed in the first year. A female takes a minimum of 2 years. You could get a proven/adult female pastel, but since money is an issue, she could end up costing more than some of the other snakes you've suggested getting. So I would get a female pastel and lesser first (or even a lesser pastel female) and then get the cinny and bee. I would actually get a black pastel instead of a cinny, but that is just personal preference.

Try and buy the females first. They take longer to get to breeding size usually. Males could be ready in six months. Maybe look at getting a pewter female rather than a pastel, a little more money but lots more potential.

Another option is buy a hatchling queen bee male and a few adult normal females.

I would suggest if you get a hatching pastel next year and have to wait for it to grow up some getting a super pastel instead just to better your odds a little plus they are reasonably priced.

You can always find a normal female adult to breed the cinny male to while you raise up your other females for fun when he gets big enough

Do their backs get more blushing as they age?

Nice move! Mine lesser girl got more blushed and lighter with every shed.
