Baby Ball Python.

Me and my Baby Ball Python, Ahktar: Who I believe is a male. I'm new to owning BPS. My only worry is that he will end up constricting one of my arms or legs and snapping them, as I have a brittle bone disorder. But I trust him immensely. :snake: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/88/ahktar.jpg/

Welcome to bp.net. Congrats on the snake. I don't believe he will hurt you. Just don't handle him if you smell like his food source. Be sure to check out the care sheet on here. It is very helpful. Any other questions you may have, feel free to ask and someone will help you.

First, welcome to BP.net.

I think you have watched too many PeTA/HSUS/anti-snake/etc influenced shows about ball pythons. That is not going to happen, especially not anytime soon. Even on the off chance you get a feeding response bite from very large, full grown adult female (think 5ft and less than 8-9 pounds) and it constricts your hands or arm, I still doubt it would even come close to breaking a bone, even with your bone disorder. If your bones were that brittle you would probably end up breaking them doing normal, routine tasks like picking up a gallon of milk or bumping your arm into something.

Welcome to BP.net :D I think you'll be fine, don't worry about him breaking any bones. He's a ball python, not a burmese.

Thank you everyone. I'm not too worried about him harming me, was just a small concern, my arms aren't even really strong enough to lift a gallon of milk at the moment, I've had over 300 broken bones, so a broken bone from anything is always possible. But, as I stated, it's not a big concern of mine. I'm proud to be a member of the community. The place where I got him estimated he was about 5-6 months old, he's currently on live food but I'm trying to switch him to F/T

F/T was a big success, he seemed to enjoy it. He got a small mouse, one step up from pinky.
