This afternoon I went to check on her, and her lip was swollen like that, last night she was fine. I took her to the vet right away and they said it could be an infection and I have to give her baytril once a day. Im just curious if this has happened to anyone else and if this is the correct treatment?
    thanks alot

    Was it mouth rot?

    Infected tooth?

If it came on all of a sudden I'd say it was more than likely a strike and she hit her face and it swole up.

    Can you open the mouth?

The vet seemed to think the rat bit her, but she didnt even strike at the rat when i offered it to her, I was watching them and didnt see the rat bite her at all. She took some fluids out of the area and they're going to send them to a lab to make sure. Her mouth opens fine

When you open the mouth do you see any redness or cottage cheese looking stuff?

    Or is it just swollen?
