    Sponge in hide?
Has anyone put damp sponge in the hide? I'm desperately trying to keep humidity up and I don't have the moss stuff so I attached a sponge to the top of his hide. I hope this is okay (don't let it get mildew etc. etc.) His eyes just became blue so he's going into shed, any extra humidity will help!

So long as you keep it fresh, it should be fine. And make sure it doesn't have any soap or chemicals in it. Sometimes a sponge fresh out of the store packaging will have junk already on it.

I've used paper towels in the same way. Seems a bit safer to me. Wet down a couple wads of paper towels and put them around in the enclosure...inside the hide is fine, too. The towels dry out before there's any chance of mold or mildew build-up. Then you can pull them out and replace them with fresh, clean ones.
