    one lucky guy...
So with the recent snow storm that has hit the northeast Power was once again knocked out for an extended period of time for me (last time was Irene's fault) last time was end of August and temps werent terrible I lost a freezer of feeders however nothing terrible... This time however I lost heat for the room along with the UTH's, lamps, etc. within about 1 hour the reptile room i have had dropped 3 degrees and I realized power wasnt coming back for a bit, so my GF made a phone call and we boxed up the snakes and brought them to her place where they had power. now the funny part is her parents are very afraid of snakes and were completely cool with it. here is the scene...

I have my 3 younger ones in the cooler and my older one in the tub with the blue lid. But this is how they spent the last 24 hours. It was a rather interesting night to say the least. On my way to her house from my place a very long 5 miles there were 2 down Branches(that went across the whole road) i had dragged off and a set of power lines down as well.

Anyway I am pretty damn lucky my GF was/is supportive of this crazy hobby and that she had power.

Oh you are so lucky. I am sooooo worried about my babies. I have a corn snake (King Crimson) and a ball python (Atlas) without power or heat. They evacuated my building while I was away and would not let me back in to get the snakes, the entire road was blocked off. I am going to try again tomorrow, but I am so scared. If it doesn't get too cold tonight, I think King Crimson will make it, but Atlas is so much more temperature sensitive... I couldn't find anywhere near me with power, and without cell service it was hard to find anything. I hope they make it, but I am petrified that I am going to come home to bad news. :(

I wish you the best. I got really lucky with mine. I know the place i live in loses heat FAST so the moment i lost it I had to react fast.

I am just suprised at how many people are still out of power and how bad this storm ended up being. I was expecting maybe an inch or 2 nothing on the roads and thats it. instead massive power outages and down limbs everywhere and a decent bit more snow than i thought.

I wish you luck with yours and hopefully they both make it. What part of Mass are you in?

I think you're very lucky too! Don't let that chick go, you have my approval, but you already knew that ;)

Too bad you can't get her to like rats :P

Its a shame she dislikes the feeders so much but the best part is when we lost power at my place, the first thing she did was ask about what i was gonna do with the snakes and if i wanted to take them to her place. like i said i got damn lucky because i think my place would have been too cold.

She's a keeper lol. Glad your snakes are all good. Good luck with the snow/power outage, over here in RI it's gone and I don't know anyone who lost power. Woohoo :D
