    Striped spiders
Looking for everyones thoughts on striped Spiders.(not genetic stripe x spider) I have a 2008 male spider that has a nice stripe 1/2 way down his back. I bred him to two females, as a result I only got 2 spiders. 1 had a reduced pattern and the other is this one:

Wondering if this pattern trait is genetic?

I think that there is something genetic going on. I have had 4 clutches from my reduced spider X normal hatched this year so far. About 1/2 of the spiders had a stripe similar to the one that you have.

Very cool. I have found that the pattern of the parents definitely influences their baby's patterns. You could probably make it genetic with some selective breeding. Since both spiders weren't striped, at this point I would just call it pattern influence.

Evan Stahl had some spiders very similar to yours for sale last year, maybe contact him and see what his experience with them has been

Looks like it wanted to be a pinstripe and decided to be a spider halfway through incubation ;)

The father does have a stripe 1/2 way down his back. It looks like he passed it on.
