Depends on their size. Anywhere from 28qt to 41qt are the most common sizes used. Sometimes you will have an exceptionally large ball that might benefit from a larger tub. As the user above me said, height isn't important as long as they have a little room for constricting prey and are able to get into their water bowl. Most of our tubs are between 6-7 inches tall and I believe that is more than adequate.

majority of males will do fine in a 28qt, I keep all my "pre-breeding" girls in 28s as well. Once they start breeding I use 41s, no matter the size just because a 28 looks pretty cramped with 2 adult bps in it.
Generally go with shorter tubs, 5-6" height (12/28/41 all are around 5.5-5.75 tall with spacing for sliding and airflow).

I use 34qt "locking" lid tubs for my big girls and would use the same for adult males also.
