Re: Cant Get Tank Warm!!!!
- Heat lamp(s) placed on or just above the screen. (Make sure they're night-time red and not white lights...or CHE's...which emit heat like a bulb, but no light)
- Extra under tank heaters (all controlled by t-stat or rheostat)
- Insulation around the tank to hold in the heat you are able to generate
- A small space heater set near the tank to warm the ambient temperatures around it, without having to heat the whole house

you can do that, just make sure you monitor the heat with a thermostat or at the very least a dimmer and have it set so it never gets above 95ish degrees, or else the glass might get too hot and if the snake decides it wants to climb the glass on that spot, it might burn the snake. UTHs are known to get well over 120 if left without a thermostat or dimmer.
Also, unless you've already done so, try covering a portion of the top with plastic. It'll help to keep heat from escaping.

I've side mounted a few UTHs with NO success. Maybe you'll have more luck than I but I'd suggest putting a UTH on the bottom and a lamp or CHE, as suggested, on top.
