Feeding places

Ok I feed my month old bp in his regular tank by dangling the f/t fuzzy and he strikes at it and eats it. Now should I continue to feed him in his regular cage or move him into a smaller cage just to feed him? Because I heard that he will mistake my hand for food when I'm reaching down into the cage to pick him up or something. Thanks

I feed all 22 of my snakes in their homes and I have never been bitten!! I believe it just stresses out the snake to be moved aound while eating. Just my two sense....we (humans) do not smell like mice so why would a snake bite? LOL

That's exactly what I said I was just told to feed them in different cages to avoid being bitten by it. Thanks

Yea same for me, although i only have 2, i feed them in their tubs and have never had a problem. If you regularly handle them they will also know that every time you open their tub/aquarium it does not mean food.

I feed mine in his cage, and have had no issues. But I wouldn't cuddle my pet rats then reach in for him or something like that.

Actually most of The time when people get bitten is when they are moving the snake from the feeding enclosure back to the living enclosure. Not only is it stressful for the snake to get move around before and after feeding. But if the animal is still in feeding mode and you go to pick it up to put it back you are opening yourself up to getting bitten.
