    Mite eggs
Got my boy out yesterday and I saw what looks like dirt under his scales and I'm really worried it might be Mites. Anybody got a good pic of Mite eggs I can compare it to??

I just looked at him again and it really just looks like dirt, though in some "alien heads" you'll see 6-7 black specks.....why he would suddenly look dirty now, 3 months into owning him I dunno. I just got my F10 today and just need to go buy some substrate before cleaning everything, though if it is mites I don't wanna do all that just to replace it/clean it agaun..ugh!

Fairly sure that mite eggs are too small to see with naked eye. Mites also don't lay eggs on the snake either. Could it be the mites themselves maybe.

I was starting to think that after looking over a bunch of things on the net, but if its full on mites he's not acting any different..happy as usual..and I don't see anything moving anywhere. I dunno what to do. I'll keep looking around, but would really appreciate any help in diagnosing this.

One of the signs of mites is a snake being in their water alot.

If you suspect you might have mites, switch your substrate to plain white paper towels for a couple days. If you have mites, you'll see the black specks on the paper towels, then you know to treat...

Good idea. Just got my cleaner for the tank in the mail so I'll know before putting down new substrate. Thx.
