    I wouldn't think using spray paint would be safe - paint tends to be toxic. Maybe check into the black molded plastic hides from Reptile Basics - they are awesome hides.

    I just don't trust anything foreign in my tubs like paint or glue - but that is just me.

    I use acrylic non-toxic paint and I let it air dry for 2-3 days before I will put it in the tub. I haven't had a problem so far.

    I believe some use spray paint, but only the non-toxic kind and they let it air dry for a few days.
