Need help with my Droid 2 global - Systems update
My phone did a system's update a few days ago. Everything about my phone has completely changed. I do not like it at all. Anyways, on my old version my phone was set so that I would get a notification (beep) when I got a text and no notification when I got emails, other updates/alerts, etc. I liked it this way. Well, now I get a notification for every single little thing that is going on with my phone. It is driving me crazy!! My phone is constantly beeping throughout the day and during the night when I am trying to sleep. I can't seem to figure out how to set these alerts individually. It's either all notifications on, or completely off, nothing in between. I don't want to turn my sound off cause I would like to know when it rings or if I have a text. I also have it as my alarm clock so I definitely don't want to turn the sound off at night. I need help!

P.S. I hope this makes sense.

Its updates to make phone better.

Theres apps out there to make changing sounds easier. BUt should be able to go into settings, sound and notifications. Each program should have its own setting as well to set its own sound or have it off

I went to Settings > Sounds > Notifications

The only option under Notifications is Notifications Ringtones. It does not have an option to set texts as one tone, emails with another, etc.

I've had other phones where I could do all this individually. I had a tone for incoming calls, a tone for private/blocked calls, a tone for texts, a tone for voicemail, etc.

I just can't seem to figure out how to do this, if possible, on the Droid 2.

I have the EVO 3D and i have diff sounds per email account and so on.

Go into your Texting app you use and then go to settings in that app. See if you can set a sound there. Then go to your email one and do the same.

I use Chomp SMS for my texting
