I recently got a B.Smithi and I want to set up a really cool enclosure for it. My Versi already has an awesome arboreal set-up ready for when it's a little bigger, but my Smithi is ready to get put into a larger enclosure. I know they burrow and do "ground things" but I wanted to see how you keep some of your terrestrial species. Pictures appreciated ;)

maybe if you posted pics of the T people would post pics of their setups! I don't have a terrestrial set up to show you - sorry. I just want to see your new addition. :D

I tend to keep my terrestrial setups pretty simple. Coco husk (or mixed with vermiculite if it's a higher humidity species), half log hide, and a water dish.

But that doesn't mean that you can't add decorations to it if you want to! Fake plants and things like that make them quite nice to look at too. :D

    Smaller T setups

All my setups are pretty basic. Each tub has a good amount of ventilation too according to the humidity level the species' likes.

I use Sphagnum Peat Moss from Home Depot that's $4 a bag. Has always worked well as a substrate, retains humidity nicely, and is cheap. I usually always provide a hide and/or some kind of fake foliage. And for many of my T's, a simple water bottle cap for the dish.

Most of my set ups are nothing special until they get to their final housing container. Here is an example of a 20 gallon set up when I first set it up so ignore the the numbers on the thermometer:

But the all pretty much consist of a water dish, hide and some fake plants :D
