Has anyone had experience with the T-Rex Forest bedding?
I use the ZooMed Forest Floor stuff and its better than aspen for humidity and cleaning, but was wondering if the TRex substrate is even better for cleaning and humidity?

if you are refering to t-rex http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2752443 i would say stick with the zoomed since its cypress. thats what i use for all of my BPs and wouldnt use anything else.(mainly for personal preference)

Yes to both. The trex forest floor is a coco coir substrate. It hold water like a sponge and unlike wood chip beddings when it dries out it can be re wet and will re absorb the same amount of water. It tends to clump around wet stuff so cleaning is easy however it is messy as it can and does blow around if you move it quickly. The best part is for me that it can be passed and digested easily and with out issue. No substrate is perfect all have issues I feel the advantages of coco based ones out weigh the disadvantages. It is also an environmentally responsible choice especially over cyprus wood chips. Chipping whole trees for much and pet bedding seems incredibly sad to me.

I use a version by densucoir but I also used beats peat and coco earth. All organic and available in various sizes from beyond huge to very small. I think if you do some poking you will find it much cheaper and about the same.

My advise is pick up a block of compressed and pick up a bag of loose The loose makes adding small amounts in easy and the blocks can be very difficult to break up and often must be expanded with water that makes it super moist and mixing some dry knocks it back some.

between the two i would choose the ZooMed Cypress.
