Axel

Ball Python. My first reptile. Pick of the litter. Although he was in my life such a short while, He touched both my life, and my mothers. My Mom was deathly afraid of snakes, and had a very strong hate of them, too. Axel is the only snake she had ever held. He taught her that snakes could be gentle things, worthy of love and respect. When we found him behind that wall, cold and curled up, she immediately opened her shirt to warm him.

He didn't make it. I don't even think he was actually alive when we found him. I'm in total denial right now. I just can't believe he's dead. He died far too young, far too soon.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. However, I am glad that you found Axel and can at least be at peace knowing you found him. :(

:teddy: :hug: sorry to hear about axel glad u found him sometimes we learn the hard way I lost my Isis feels like it was just a few days ago but its been a lot longer than that i didn't realize she could have had a RI, blockage, a lot of things i will never be able to find out but she and axel are partying together now

Thanks everyone. It's gotten (somehow) easier the last few days. It's so ridiculous how attached I got to the little guy...I thought he would be with me for years, and my brain is having such a hard time letting go of that idea.

It's so hard to calm the 'if only's' in your head, you know? :tears:
