    Guys, I found him.
And this could be either the happiest or saddest day of my life.

A few of you know I lost my precious boy, Axel, a few months ago.

He was in the wall (exposed to the outside). He's in awful shape. He's about half the size he was, obviously dehydrated, and....I don't know if he's even alive. his body isnt limp, which makes me think he's alive. His eyes are bright. but other than that...I can't tell that he's breathing, and he's not moving. Please, help me! I'm so scared and trying not to panic. So far I've been holding him against my bare chest, covered by a shirt for warmth. But I have no plan. I know he shouldn't be around my other snakes, but I have no where to put him! I had just come to terms with the fact I would never see him again. :(

Thanks. And I totally agree with you, if he was still alive. He's definitely dead. Now that I'd warmed him up, I saw that there was no life in him. Big kinks, lots of bruising, upper body totally limp and lifeless-no reaction whatsoever.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That's a horrible way to lose one of your babies. :tears:

I'm sorry for your loss. I have to ask though - how did you find a dead snake in the wall?

    Thanks.

The worst part is knowing I came so close. He was alive yesterday. The day before. He wasn't decomposed at all...hell, he might have even been alive a few hours ago. It's just so SO difficult to accept that I found him, and now he's gone.

womsterr- We had a water leak behind our washer. The plumber had to open up the wall to reach it. He then found Axel. I literally woke up to- "I found a snake in the wall!" I was so happy.

I am so sorry for your loss, you can't blame yourself for not finding him sooner. :tears:

Unreal - its like the most incredible odds that you had a leak in that EXACT space but equally crappy but incredible odds it was just a little too late. That sucks...at least you have some level closure.
