    Need help with epic gene
I bought this normal girl from the CRBE and I bought her because she was the best looking normal i could find. I bought her from alextreme reptiles and he said it was from an epic Savannah sire and normal female. She seems to be brighter than normal balls i have seen and she has a reduced pattern. lighter head. i read on a forum:
    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-Cinnie-Pastel)

On there it said that that epics reduce pattern, lighten the head and reduce the black. Is there a chance that my girl carries the epic gene?

I don't really know anything about the Epic morph, but it sounds like a dominate or codom morph since he didn't call her a het Epic. If that is the case she can't be carrying the gene.

She's really pretty though! The parents, no matter what the morph is, can definitely influence the pattern of the babies. For example a pastel parent can influence the patterns of their normal babies even though the normal babies aren't carrying the pastel gene. They can also influence the color to some degree. Some normal babies from pastel parents can be pretty light in color.

To me it looks like the greatest difference was made in the pastels and pastel yellowbelly. Id throw something with pastel in it to her and see if something really stands out. Its not going to be an easy one to tell, not a lot of epic stuff out there and it hides well in some morphs.

Considering the epic savahna is a mojave x cinny x epic, all codom and dom morphs i would say she nothin but a normal. Also when you breed an epic savahna to a normal theres only a small chance at normals so if she was infact the result of a breeding from an epic sav to a normal id say shes just normal. But still a sweet lookin normal

I don't think Tom Baker has isolated the Epic gene yet. At least he hadn't last I talked to him.
