    Young Columbians defecation problems?
Hey everyone, first off I'm going to apologize for not havingthe pictures up yet. Too many hours at work (50-60 a week), so it's hard to get around to putting them online.

Anywho, yesterday I noticed that my young boa 'Wrath' had a bump around his vent. I dismissed it, as I figured he just needed to go. Well, I was right, because this morning, before I went to bed, I took him out to some good ole handling, and the bump was pretty big. You could see the scales seperated.

Well, my solution was to let the faucet run until the water was warm, and held his vent underneath for a few minutes and gently massaged the area until everything passed. everything looked normal, I mean it looked like poop, so I'm curious if this is something any of you experience from time to time with your boas.

If everything passed then I wouldn't be too worried now. The warm water IS a good solution for any bathroom troubles. If he was constipated, it would have been a large hard bump. Was it still squishy before he went?

He probably just DID have to go number 2 if it was still squishy. A lot of snakes and especially my red tail boa, get a fat butt before going to the bathroom.

Yeah, everything seemed normal, it didn't seem hard or odd other than he just didn't seem to have the easiest time passing it.

Thanks for the input, I wasn't too terribly worried, but still is something I felt was worth double checking.
