Custom Enclosure First One
There are many mistakes that I made and learned from the next one will be much better. Not the prettiest but very functional. Any suggestions would be appreciated (anything besides the screws in front, locks hanging over the edge and not staining the inside of the door)
Locks on the side overhang OCD was definitely kicking in.

Mesh Covered Pegboard for the backing very useful.

Left lamp is for ceramic heater. Right hole now has a zoomed CFL on it makes the cage look very bright and lit up.

Marley, partially pastel loves his new cage.

well, i wouldnt believe what they told you, cause there is no "het pastel";)
and just out of curiosity, why the mesh over the pegboard on the back? all i can think of is to keep bugs out
nice cage though:gj:

Here's a good thread on understanding genetics...it really breaks it down. I learned a lot from it :)
Thanks! That made a lot of sense. What do you think my bp is just from looking at the picture?
The mesh in the back was for a few reasons:
1)It was originally going to be for a corn and they are absolute escape artists and my corn was small when i built it.
2)for more protection so the snake won't rub their nose against the holes and maybe hurt them self
3) Finally so any small pieces of substrate wouldn't fall out.
I didn't even think of keeping bugs out but that's one more reason now lol.

If I understand correctly, I think their balls are mostly imported. At my local herp vet they will do a fecal test for internal parasites for $25. Good luck! :)
I have had him for over 6 months now. No signs of any problems and the batch he came from was a local San Diego breeder and were captive bred. A lot of LLL's reptiles have mites and are imported.
