    Your most intimidating species
Is there any species of reptile that you would not have just for the fact that they make you nervous or maybe even scare the :cens0r: out of you?

outside of venomous being an obvious choice for me it has to be blood pythons. I just don't trust them, they just sit there and look at you lol. And the fact that they can just explode plus I am kinda jumpy already makes them something I would not really want to own. They are also thick and strong, its harder to control them. I still think they are beautiful but I will let others enjoy working with them.

an alligator lol I've always liked snakes and any other herps but i couldnt trust my self to deal with that.

Thats leaving venomous out though puff adders and eyelash cobras are much scarier

I will stay away from the giants - burms and retics. Not so much that they scare me, but more because I think they are more than I can, and more than I'd want to, handle. I know my limits and these guys are outside them. Their tendency toward unpredictable temperaments adds to that. :gj:

I have handled a number of burms and treat them with respect that is their due but Retics... they make me think about what I am doing before I open the enclosure. I'd have to say retics make my heart go faster.

Retics are very intimidating. I think the largest species I could get myself to own are boas. I handled a 15 foot retic at NERD once, she was a BIG girl and got me over my fear of "the giants" a little, but I still get the shivers when I walk into their retic room...

After this picture was taken, the two guys holding her other HALF draped her across me. She "hugged" me just to hold on and it was like being bear hugged my a line backer.

well, the only animals i WOULDNT own are outside the herp class like bears and lions. my scrub scared the crap out of me for years lol, i did hold her a few time, resulting in getting bit, but i loved it so much. she was super intimidating, and she would sit in her cage and follow you around the house, apparently even through walls lol. if someone were coming to the garage through the kitchen she would be following them before they even opened the door, awesome snake, you should try getting one:gj:

and to LGray: that thing is freaking HUGE! i cant really tell if its a big snake or small you, but that things like the size of your leg! that must've been a rush

Rock python. Enough said, me and a buddy tried catching a ” wild” one in the everglades and gave up after it lunged like its entire body length.

Leah, I think your waist is as big as the snakes, lol!

I'm a bit intimdated by some of the boas. They just look so primal that it makes me a bit nervous. I don't mind the giants - a coworker has a few giants and they're magnificent.

Id say anything bigger then like 12 feet, i draw the line at full size Columbian red tails, Burms, Anacondas, Retics, no thanks. I dont think i could sleep at night with one in the house haha.

Someday i would love to wrangle an alligator though! I think that would be incredible.
