Winter shipping question for you breeders

What do you guys do for customers that want to purchase snakes during the winter? It is coming up really soon here and there are some things that I plan on getting in the next two or three months. Do you just take deposits and wait until spring to ship? Do you just insulate really well and still ship?

I'm just wanting to know what to expect with the season coming soon.

I'd be interested to hear the responses to this, as I was wondering the same thing. Early Christmas presents to myself all picked out, lol!, but with colder weather on the horizon...

Depends as long as I am comfortable with the temps I will ship, of course this often all come down to location, while shipping in Florida might not be interrupted shipping to Minnesota will.

Same thing goes during the summer some places are of to ship while some experiencing extreme temps are not.

I prefer not ship when temps are below 40 or above 92.

During that time well if people have a payment plan it works perfectly if they have already paid in full they have to be patient and wait until the whether allow shipping.

Generally it is not an issue most people understand that the animal well being comes first and that shipping might need to be delayed.

I tend to worry more about summer shipping than winter shipping.

I'm on the recieving end, lol. I am purchasing an adult GTP from a breeder in Atlanta and we mutually agreed that we don't want to risk shipping up here to Michigan. We've had some lousy weather recently. We are both planning on going to Tinley in Chicago in the spring and I'll spend the winter building the habitat and pick him up then. It's a long wait, but I feel really good knowing my snake is safe and I'd rather wait and recieve a healthy snake. I'm glad the breeder feels the same way! :gj:
