Should I Get This Cinny ?
Just wondering what typical prices are on Cinnamon Males ? There is one Im considering buying for $125 from a breeder that I know, 2011 hatchling. Super pretty too. (either that or I can get a male & female 100% het for albino 2011's for $200 from the same guy)
Heres a pic that he sent me:

I am looking to start breeding in a few years, and I thought this would be a good addition. If I were to acquire a female as well in the near future I could breed for 25% Black Balls, right? Is this a good beginner project?
I wouldnt have to spend much more money for the time being, since Im moving my girl from her 20 gal into a pvc enclosure. I would just have to invest in an incubator, a rack system, and probably another herpstat, when i decide to start breeding. This is all new to me, just iso your 2 cents ^^ Thanks guyss

Re: Should I Get This Cinny ?
Yep! It's around that price. I was going to buy a pair of Cinnamon for $275 + shipping, but then I would have to wait 2 years to breed them to make Super Cinnamon (8 Ball)..That's IF you hit the odds...Not always will you end up with a Super Cinny.
You'll also have to think about the possible kinks, time, effort, money used in feeding them for 2 years to hit the odds of a Super Cinny. Just saying....lol

I like his pattern, with cinnies the dark the better IMO. If you can get a pair of cinny het albinos for $200 total, I would have to go that route. Cinnamon albinos are one of the coolest combos around.

Re: Should I Get This Cinny ?
If you like him go for it, I personally avoid cinnamon and stick with black pastel, I like them better. A big mistake I made getting started was buying single gene males, I wish I would have purchased a few good 2 gene animals and left the singles alone

I think my intention with this cinnamon was more for pleasure than profits and making unique breeds. That can come later when I am more experienced, right? I wanted something simple to try my hand at breeding, before I go and buy some ridiculously priced morphs, just to find out I have no idea about breeding  Haha, Im rambling.
In terms of eel's comment about the $200 for pair of cinny het albino. Where would I start looking for such a deal lol ? I guess I may have to resort to going online. Theres a local Reptile Expo in Ajax on Nov 6 (close to where I live), would that be a good place to start looking ? All of the breeders I know (I only know three) only seem to have the most basic single gene morphs, or the most expensive rare morphs. I think I still have a lot of researching to do :P

If your goal is supers then i would go black pastels. Better looking super and stronger gene. Cinnys have a reputation for tail kinkers and duck bills

Re: Should I Get This Cinny ?
just be careful when it comes to shows, if your for a particular something you might not find it, with those you have to keep a more open mind. i just went to one here with the intention of buying a heat pad for my BP, but instead, i actually ended up coming home with a Red tail boa lol

I just picked up a new cinnamon male. I do really like black pastels, because their combos tend to be darker, but that maroonish purple color is cinnamons is cool too. I bought mine because he has an almost complete black back and I was thinking about pewters and how that would look. Whether its hereditary or not, who knows? Its going to be one of my first projects though. I say, if you can find a project for him, if that's the route you want to take, do it. Its not that much money at all and he could make you some cool snakes. :gj:

Personally, I'd make an offer on the trio!

That is a really nice Cinny! I preffer Cinnamons over Black Pastels, but there are instances with duckbilling in some Supers. However, as far as I know, duckbilling does not harm the snake and lives just fine with it. If you are in it for the experience, then I doubt having to discount the price for "deformed" animals wouldn't bother you.
Kinks on the other hand can be ugly, but that can happen with any morph. I have only seen a few instances where Super Cinnamons were involved.
I'll most likely be vending at the November Expo if I don't sell out by then, maybe I'll to see you there. :)
