What to do if the feeders bite your BP
One of my BP's wont eat frozen thawed, So im feeding live, only full grown mice at the moment. What happens when rat feeding is needed and your BP gets a nasty bite from the rat?

Just would like to know if theres anything that should be done to properly look after the bite?

I use betadine and polysporin if its bad. But when i drop in live rats, i have hemostats there on hand if needed.

When rat goes to bite, i pinch its nose with the hemos to keep the bottom jaw from completing a bite.

mine only eats live also, and like he said, keep something close by. i always have needle nose or wire cutters on hand, so if my snake gets it in a way that the rat can bite, you can just break its neck real quick if it tries to

    Virus
    Kill it with fire.

but really, I have never had a problem with live feeding yet. Though last feeding, my male ghost decided to miss a couple of times, so before anything 'could' have happened, I picked up the rat and killed it quickly with a quick strike to the back of the neck/head.

Have you tried prekilled instead of frozen thawed? Some snakes are more likely to eat that at first.

No havent considered prekilled, its only one BP that eats live, I dont want to build a co2 chamber for the amount ill use it, and killing them other ways could get messy :)
