They can breed a little younger then females, but early on they aren't very good. Best bet for both male and females is to start breeding at 4 months.

Bahahahha. Its there just very very small. Haha. Jokes.. K jut curious cause i had 3 1.4 colonies but after they all started dropping the tubs were to full. Took one females from each tub and a weanling male. Hoping have them produce a lil sooner soon as the male is old enough. Sooner the better for me.
