Thanks! Beats reading a veterinarian textbook but still had some insightful info in it, I thought. Interesting to finally find out how they do that, the actual science behind it as opposed to just knowing they could.

I wonder if sperm storage would be an issue in captive breeding? I suppose they haven't seen it in BPs yet, have they? That would make it hard to call things 100% het! XD Although, maybe if they are on a regular yearly breeding schedule with happy, comfortable conditions they wouldn't bother with the whole sperm storage thing anyway?


Also, I had no idea that they had seen parthenogenesis in turkeys. XD Self-perpetuating Thanksgiving!

People have seen sperm storage in captivity! I know someone who bred a spider to his pastel one year but she didn't take--the next year he bred the pastel to his pied to get some hets...but what do you know, a bumblebee hatched!!
