    Pairing while in blue?
My female was in blue, and I was hoping she'd clear up by today, which is the first day of the pairing cycle. Of course, she didn't. I was nervous about putting the male in the tub while she couldn't see - I didn't want any injuries to either snake - so I left him out.

So what's the general rule on pairing while one animal is in blue?

I usually don't waste my time while in blue however what you really want to do is put the male in soon as the female just shed :gj:

    Hi,

Mine seem not to bad normally if it is the female in shed - if it's the male though they almost never do anything. :(

But a fresh shed female is a definite improvement. :D

I can't see how it would cause any harm, but like Deborah said, I won't even bother putting a male in with a female that is in shed.

Well, I may have gotten lucky. Today, we're having a huge front move through with a ton of rain and cold weather, and my girl is out of blue. My pastel may be getting some love today. Within 10 minutes, they were tail to tail, but not locked. Fingers crossed!

Best time to pair... I pair my females while they are in blue and 95% of the time they will still lock up. Where if it is the male in shed then I don't bother as they tend to not do anything while in shed(go figure.. lol) I have better results when females are in blue and when low fronts are moving through... Mind you this is with proven breeding males where if your using a virgin male right after the female sheds tends to be better..:gj:

I have not had any luck if either male or female are in blue. I wasn't going to pair any this year if they were in shed. But because of this post I will try pairing even if the female is in shed. Thanks for the responses. Sheds new light for me. .
