Re: orgainization........
It's good to be organized! Every snake keeper should have some kind of organization system that works for them.
Lately I have been organizing myself a little better with certain things. I got a binder with some tabs, in this order: Weights-Ball Pythons, Weights-Other Snakes, Breeding, Clutches.
I basically only keep record of everyone's weights and do a weight checkup around once a month. Each snake has their own titled paper with their weights that follow on each line. I'll also write their weights, morph, what size mouse/rat they eat, and if they are proven on their tubs with dry erase marker. I never keep record of feedings and sheds, ONLY for the hatchlings under the "Clutches" category. And as for breeding, I write down every and all locks, signs, follicles, ovulations, and what have you.
I do admit I keep ALL the photos I ever take on Photobucket. I have reached over 1000 photos :D!
Re: orgainization........
I do this with my own as well as the rescues I adopt out. Incase I have to give up an animal there is a record for them. I do have a different photosbucket folders for each snake two for each actually. One is for feeding pics...
Re: orgainization........
I'm a member of the OCD club for sure.
I keep a sprial notebook for each snake. I document every feeding, every pooper, sheds, urates, urine. I document their weights - just about everything.
When I took my female normal to the vet last year because I thought her fast was lasting a bit too long - you should have seen the vets face when I pulled out my spiral notebook with every possible bit of information on this snake - he was very impressed and said he wished more people kept records like this.
So, you see - there is something to be said about being "OCD" with records.
